DRC365 #357

This is a hold up. Balancing a full 20 litre jerrycan of water on his head, this boy is about to make the return trip home, one of his daily chores. This water is not clear nor fully clean, even though it comes from a spring, yet is the closest water source to his home. He may not always be able to get to school as he has to collect water and help the family at home. This poverty and lack of access to basic services is holding up the development of the community. Subverting and hindering the future of Congo, poverty continues to hold up growth and development.

This spring was later rehabilitated and the community now benefits from clean safe water. This is the second of our final ten pictures for DRC365. Please like and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see the full gallery of photos from this year.
