Having easy access to clean water will make a huge difference to the people of Kasongo, particularly women and children. In addition to the obvious health benefits, including a reduction in water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera, there are numerous other advantages. Children no longer have to spend hours every day collecting water, and are able to attend school more regularly; women have more time to devote to growing food and cultivating small businesses.
