Work. First in a five-part series showing the different jobs and livelihoods we have come across in DRC. This image is of an elderly entrepreneur who took the initiative to make snacks from her cassava crop. The cassava is dried, pulped and mashed to form a filling (but not very nutritious) paste. It is then wrapped in a banana leaf and sold to passengers about to embark on a long journey as a snack for their road trip. She makes a living from these sales and is now able to support the grandchildren she takes care of.
